002 – Luck

This morning I went to the pharmacy to pickup a prescription for my eldest daughter.   I had a fun time trying to get the order and verify the information because some of it was correct and some of it was not.  I have no idea where the bad information came from or how it could be related at all to my daughter.  However, I did get the prescription and I did find this penny on the ground.

  1. How many hands have held that 50 year old coin? How happened to all the precious wishes made with that coin in hand?

When freshly minted many were dying in Vietnam and Dylan’s songs “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “The Times They Are a-Changin’” were telling a different story. Why are some lucky and other not?

“The answer my friend is blowing in the wind”. And time changes all including an old coin touched by so many hands with stories untold.

    1. Wow! What an amazing perspective. Thanks for sharing that. I had some thoughts about what luck is and isn’t and I ultimately gave up trying to articulate something useful when it’s more about describing a context and asking questions that can be so profound. I love this.
