We woke to the early morning Kanazawa light with views of the surrounding mountains and snow still covering the ground.
After a quick morning sit in a very old, very cold and very beautiful local Buddhist temple we made our way through the snow to climb two of the towers in the Kanazawa Castle and then down to a Tea Ceremony at the Kenroku-en Garden.
For lunch, we made our way across the river to Tea Town where we enjoyed some fantastic udon soba noodle bowls.
Our afternoon required a nap before our evening adventure continued with a lovely dinner at a local sushi house and walk across town to the hot springs bath house that came recommended by a woman who sold us tickets to the castle earlier.
We walked a total of 11.6 miles or 30,375 steps and climbed 29 flights of stairs.
Everything here in Kanazawa has been an absolute delight including my sweet partner who I am grateful to be traveling with.
